| Most of our guests drive to Martinborough from Wellington or along the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail from Hawkes Bay. If you drive from central Wellington, the travel time is about 75 minutes. State Highway 2 takes you over the Rimutaka Hill and down into Featherston. Before you reach the Main Street, a signpost directs traffic to the right to Martinborough along State Highway 53 – a distance of just 18 kilometres. Travellers from Hawkes Bay should follow State Highway 2 through Greytown. Just as you are leaving the town, a signpost to Martinborough will be visible on the left. The nearest rail station is Featherston, which is on the Wellington to Masterton line. The journey from Wellington takes one hour.
