Terms & Conditions

The Terms and Conditions noted below are applied to all bookings with The Martinborough Hotel.

 1.     Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult when staying at The Martinborough Hotel. By submitting a booking on this website, you warrant that at least one of the guests who will be staying is 18 years of age or over. If sufficient identification cannot be presented on arrival, The Martinborough Hotel reserves the right to refuse to honour the booking.

2.     Guests will be required to present a valid credit card on arrival to cover the cost of the booking, any incidentals incurred and/or any damage caused by you to your room (fair wear and tear excepted) during the stay. Guests unable to provide a valid credit card will be required to make full payment of the cost of the booking together with a NZD$200 cash bond on arrival.

3.     All payments, including settlement of your account on your departure, are to be made in NZ currency.

4.     Check-in time is any time after 2:30pm on the first day of the relevant booking, unless by prior arrangement you have confirmed an Early Check in.

5.     Check-out time is any time before 10:30am on the last day of the relevant booking unless by prior arrangement you have confirmed a Late Departure.

6.     The Martinborough Hotel reserves the right to cancel or modify a booking where it appears that a customer has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where it appears that the booking contains, or has resulted from, a mistake or error.  No booking will be refunded onto a different card than the one originally used for payment.

7.     The rates displayed on The Martinborough Hotel website are not commissionable to registered travel agents, including the International Association of Travel Agents.

8.     The Martinborough Hotel makes its best efforts to ensure that the information available on its website is accurate. However, The Martinborough Hotel cannot and does not guarantee that the website is free from errors or faults. The Martinborough Hotel does not accept liability for any errors or omissions on its website and reserves the right to change information published on the website at any time.

9.     The Martinborough Hotel does not accept liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising out of the use of or connected with its website or for any products or services purchased from its website.

10.   The Martinborough Hotel recognises the privacy concerns of its customers, clients, guests, contacts, and the users of its website. We store your details in our Property Management System as a profile. Which in the future can be used for any other bookings which will already have your preferences mentioned so we can cater all your needs.

 EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR

11.   No pets are allowed to stay at The Martinborough Hotel.

12.   No illegal drugs or associated paraphernalia are allowed to be brought onto the Hotel premises.

13.   The Martinborough Hotel has a strict noise and no party policy. We reserve the right to limit the number of people in any one room and to remove people from the Hotel if noise levels exceed acceptable levels and are reducing the enjoyment levels of other guests. If we are required to reimburse another guest for their stay due to the noise created by you or your guests, we will pass this charge onto you.

 ADDITIONAL CHARGES

14.   A 2% surcharge will apply to all VISA and Mastercard payments, and a 3% surcharge applies to AMEX payments.

15.   A cleaning fee up to $600 will apply if any form of soiling has occurred in the room.

16.   Any room key not returned at check out and not returned within 72 hours will incur a $100 replacement fee.  This will be charged to the credit card of the main guest on the booking.

17.   The Martinborough Hotel is a smoke-free premise. This includes all inside and outside areas. No smoking or vaping is allowed in rooms. Should you and/or your guest(s) smoke or vape in a room a airing fee shall apply at the rate of $750, regardless of room type. You will also be responsible for all costs, damage and liabilities arising as a result of smoking and/or any smoke detectors being activated by you.

18.   There is a fine of NZD$500 for tampering with the smoke detectors in any way.

19.   Package Bookings including restaurant charges.  Two course inclusions are up to $150 per booking and three course options are up to the value of $180 per booking.  Any charges above are the responsibility of the guests.  This also applies to any charges over and above stipulated breakfast credit.

20.   You will be liable to The Martinborough Hotel for the costs of remedying any damage you cause to your room (fair wear and tear excepted). The Martinborough Hotel reserves the right to recover all or part of such costs from your credit card or your cash bond.

21.   If you leave anything behind in your room, we can courier this to you and will pass on the courier fee plus a $25 handling fee.

22.   The maximum number of guests per room is 2 adults or one adult, one child. Additional adults or children are only allowed if a rollaway bed has been purchased for a Garden Suite. Infants (under 2 years) can be added to the room for no charge, unless a porta cot is required. Failure to book appropriate rooms/bed numbers for your group may result in members of your party being turned away and/or penalty charges.

 CANCELLATIONS & AMENDMENTS

23.   Amendments may be made by contacting the Hotel directly. The original daily room rate is not guaranteed and may be subject to change when amending a booking.

24.   Bookings made via online agents Booking.com or Expedia must be cancelled by the guest via those portals.  The Martinborough Hotel cannot cancel these bookings.

25.   Bookings made via a Travel Agent must be cancelled via the Travel Agent.

26.   All other bookings can be cancelled by contacting the Hotel Reception (email: info@martinboroughhotel.co.nz or by calling +64 6 306 9350 ext 1)

27.   Advance Purchase Bookings

i.    Notwithstanding the cancellation and amendment terms set out above, advance purchase bookings are not refundable, and bookings may not be modified. If you depart early, cancel, or fail to honour your booking for any reason, you will not receive any credit or refund. Your credit card will be charged upon booking for your entire stay.

28.   Standard Cancellation Policy – Independent Travellers

i.    Cancellations or changes made to a booking within 48 hours of check in/ arrival date will incur a cancellation fee equal to one night’s accommodation at your confirmed room rate.

ii.   Cancellations or changes made to a booking within 24 hours of check in/ arrival date for a 2-night stay will incur a cancellation fee equal to two night’s accommodation at your confirmed room rates.

29.   Travel Agent Bookings – Inbound Tour Operators

i.    Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date/check-in time will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the confirmed room rate(s)

ii.   Cancellation within 28 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the confirmed room rate(s).

iii.   Outside of 4 weeks of the arrival date, no fee will be incurred.

30.   Travel Agent Bookings – NZ Operators

  i.    Limited Numbers (less than 10 guest nights)

-   Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date/check-in time will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the confirmed room rate(s)

-   Cancellation within 28 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the confirmed room rate(s).

-   Outside of 4 weeks of the arrival date, no fee will be incurred.

ii.   Large Numbers (10 or more guest nights)

-   20% deposit due at time of booking.  The deposit will be non-refundable within 60 days of arrival.

-   Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date/check-in time will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the confirmed room rate(s).

-   Cancellation within 28 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the confirmed room rate(s).

-   Outside of 28 days of the arrival date, no fee will be incurred.

31.   Conferences (includes use of conference room)

  i.    20% deposit is due at the time of booking. The deposit will be non-refundable within 60 days of arrival.

ii.   Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date/check-in time will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total confirmed quote.

iii.   Cancellation within 28 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total confirmed room rates.

32.   Group Bookings (10 or more guest nights)

  i.    20% deposit is due at the time of booking. . The deposit will be non-refundable within 60 days of arrival.

 ii.   Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date/check-in time will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total confirmed quote.

iii.   Cancellation within 28 days of the arrival date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total confirmed room rates.

33.   Guarantee Policy

i.    All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card at time of booking. Please note, the credit card provided is used to guarantee the booking only, payment will not be taken from this credit card, unless a cancellation fee is incurred. The credit card used to guarantee your stay must be valid at the date of your stay.

 

These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with and governed by the laws in force in New Zealand. You irrevocably submit to and accept the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.  The Martinborough Hotel is a New Zealand owned business.
